45.Batman: Arkham Asylum PS3 Games:How to win.

BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM PS3 GAMES
How to win.
Intensive Treatment Lobby

The beginning serves as an interactive movie of sorts. As the opening credits
roll, follow the prison guards as they wheel the Joker throughout Arkham
Asylum's Intensive Treatment Center. Soak in the immersive, but chilling
atmosphere and the incredible game script as you slowly move through the rooms
leading to the Holding Cells

 Holding Cells

As if anyone would actually be surprised with the outcome, The Joker breaks
free thanks to Harley Quinn and sicks some thugs on Batman games.

This battle serves as a tutorial, as button prompts will appear onscreen to
help guide you through the ambush. For the first wave of thugs, use X to
strike with your fists of fury. Take note of the freeflow combat and how
smooth it is to operate. Don't worry if you get cracked in the mouth a few
times; just keep swinging. During the second wave of thugs, you can use Y to
counter. When jagged lines appear above an enemy's head, press Y to counter
the enemy's attack and send them reeling.

With the foes defeated, the Joker opens the force field ahead of you.
Tempting, I know. It's our only choice, so what else are we to do? Before
leaving, there is a ventilation shaft we can enter back near the entrance of
the Holding Cells. Pry open the gate and squeeze inside with the Right Trigger
to find the RIDDLER TROPHY at the end.

There are some Joker Teeth toys chattering inside the room past the now-
defunct force field. Use the Left Trigger to aim and destroy the JOKER TEETH
(3) with your Batarang. Enter the Processing Corridor.

Processing Corridor
There isn't much here aside from a few more Joker Teeth and a very noisy alarm
system. Destroy the JOKER TEETH (4) directly in front of you and proceed
forward towards the intersection. Two inmates jump you, looking for a fight.
C'mon, you're freaking Batman! Show them who's boss, then look to your left.
Smash the JOKER TEETH (5) and talk with Eddie Burlow. After totally shutting
him down, go to the right as Batman contacts Oracle. Ughhh, it's like Gears of
War all over again! Walk through the door.

Patient Pacification Chamber
Speak with Zach Franklin to learn of the current situation. We'll have to use
a bit of stealth to deal with Zsasz. Head up to the balcony and talk to the
guards to form a game plan. You will now be allowed to use Detective Mode.

Tap the Left Bumper for the screen to turn blue. All humans are viewed as a
bright blue skeleton, allowing you to spot enemies and allies alike through
walls and other obstacles. Interactive objects are colored orange, such as the
gargoyles lining the upper wall. Grapple to the nearest one, then make your
way to the back end of the room.

Once positioned behind Zsasz, tap X to perform a Glide Kick. Zsasz is down,
but not out: quickly hold the Right Trigger and press Y to perform a swift
Ground Takedown to incapacitate the psycopath and free the guard.

Harley Quinn radios in with a tiny message: the inmates are now running the
asylum. With the exits sealed, enter Detective Mode to easily spot the two
ventilation shafts in the room. The one near the entrance to the Patient
Pacification Chamber holds a RIDDLER TROPHY, while the other is the way out of
here.

Go through the vent, coming across another RIDDLER TROPHY in a small nook, to
reach the other end. Kick open the gate and drop down into the Processing
Corridor.

Processing Corridor

Looks like Eddie Burlow opened the door just in time. Follow him through into
Decontamination.

Decontamination
First off, destroy the three JOKER TEETH (8) right under your nose. The two of
you are sealed away from the main room by a large door, though it's probably
for your own good as the room is filled with the Joker's toxin gas.

Look above you as the Right Bumper appears onscreen, meaning you can grapple
to an object on the ceiling. Do so to reach the top of the shaft. Open the air
duct and go on through to reach the main section of the room.

Rescue the guard in front of you that's clinging for his life. Jump across the
gap to the next platform. Grapple up to the guard in distress and help Steve
up. The guard informs Batman of a control panel needed in order to turn off
the flow of toxic gas. Jump and glide (hold A) to the next ledge. An inmate is
also hanging off the ledge here. Like I said before, you are Batman. He's one
of those "softy crime fighters". Help up the thug, then bash his face in.

Facing the thug's unconscious body, activate Detective Mode and look to the
left to find the control panel in the office below. Aim and toss a Batarang at
the panel to clear the room of the deadly gas. Drop down to the floor and
search the area for a trio of JOKER TEETH (11).

Before exiting the Decontamination room, comb the area's perimeter to find a
grating on the floor that gives Batman access to a small air duct. Open it and
drop in to locate another RIDDLER TROPHY.

Leave via the southern exit

44)The Sims 3 Pc games reviews

Buy The Sims 3 PC Games

The Sims 3: A major expansion? Or a new game?
The Sims 3rd The culmination of all simulation games and virtual life. It was 2000, when it was published Thursday Sims, a game that changed a number of assessment and a new standard for simulation games. One of the most successful games of all time TS1 (The Sims 1), and further expansion packs proved to be a good choice for casual gamers. The Sims 2 shipped almost the same results, and helped to push Electronic Arts to more than 100 million copies (including expansion packs) sold - making it clear the game in the series of the most successful of all time. Today, 9 years later, The Sims 3 arrives. The next step in a realistic, but fun simulation of life. E 'as good as you claim to be? Maybe. And "the best game in the series? Yes, but what about The Sims 3 (TS3) that is so big? It's the perfect environment? It is not nearly the loading screen, or the construction of the game (very a few objects, lack of district play in the basic publication, etc.) makes the game unplayable or not fun?

GREAT professionals:
Let me start with the basics. The Sims 3, or, as I speak as TS3, has an incredible amount of new features. TS3 has a homogeneous surface, where everything is in flux, such as on family life SIM games. TS3 has a new Create-A-Sim and "Creating Style", where people have the option, the color for each object in the creation of a kind of game is something that is not missing disappoint.

You can choose from over 10 different categories, with dozens of dozens of models to choose from in each. You can also use any color in the way you want the lighter touch. The fact that you do not own things in TS2 color and thus the community of custom content was forced, unnecessary dyes and tools for adjusting color. Homogeneous district is not no surprise, though perhaps only slightly improved. The seamless neighborhood? Well, have you ever thought a game in which all the Sims, with you? New children, new families who are in the cities, and people die, how you live your life? If so, you happiness - because that is exactly what the district homogeneous. Apart from the practical or simply invisible, the loading screens (with the exception of 2 materials, which are even shorter, the loading screen Sims 2). In addition, the "events" throughout the region can participate. Unfortunately, for the moment there are only 4 or 5 different events. All of these repetitive very quickly, and do not hold your interest for a long time. Finally, the characteristic of the system. Remember to turn and turn, now you can be the person that you want. The time you want to create, or Chuck Norris, Bill Gates, 5 can be more than 80 functions of your SIM card. And if the route was not enough for Bill Gates and Chuck Norris, you can also adapt to the new Create-A-Sim, the modification of the eyebrows, and up to 5 cursors to resolve issues such as the cheekbones, jaw and nose.

There is now a possibility, the life of a reward. With the conclusion of "wishes", the equivalent of Wants in Sims 2, you can take advantage of to help you cruise through life easier. Some of these prices, it is only the hunger for life, where to eat little at all, Extra Creative teleportation. There are very useful, and makes the game much more brilliant and unique.

Un po 'per child:
- Building / buying mode, with a new method of rooms and clues as to what would be for them.
- Ability to objects by 45 degrees.
- Ability to tilt the camera (unless it was already in The Sims 2, I can not remember)
- Possibility of different objects with a lamp, computer, telephone and plants ... all on a desk or table.
- Free TS2 Expansion Pack integration (fishing, skills are now).
- Moodlet system makes the game even to the SIM card, and not just random things. Moodlets are good and bad, and that is the mood of the SIM down or up. Higher education is obviously better, and with a relatively high mood, you can earn points faster and poor ability mood.

GREAT CONS
For each game is a disadvantage, and The Sims 3 is no exception. I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, but not for me to decide.

It begins with the famous problem of stuttering. Although some of the high-end computers do not have problems, most computers will feel the effects of load screen. When zooming TS3, the computer lags a bit "extreme violence. Not only at this time, but occasionally there is a slight" delay fart. "Conversely, if you zoom close, then more points you can play easily without delay.

Another is the MAXPEED with the game. TS2 compared with TS3, TS2 clock is much faster. TS3 Ultraspeed TS2 is the normal speed. This is yet another side effect of screens is not loaded, and tried, a district at the end of time. But until we get more information, is not quite sure.

The Game feels "incomplete." I'm not sure, because of his lack of objects, or the number of problems and errors, but do not feel 100% ready. I know errors / problems are a serious problem in many games, but this game seems to have a large quantity. This can be supported by my topic "Official Bugs / Glitches" in these very TS3 dashboards.

The Create-A-Sim is surprisingly vague. I would also say that the Sims are more attractive, and are looking for and then fade the Sims in TS2. E 'a disappointment for me unusual because TS3 has more than 2 1 / 2 years later, TS2. You expect to see more Sims, but apparently this is not the case.

With one more, I would like to mention is one of the most angry, and that would be the "Rabbit Hole". Rabbits, at least in TS3, is a game, if you can not see the SIM card - it was only a foot and have been in a trap - or a rabbit. This is very angry at TS3 several players, including myself, how much of the pedestrian in the community of 100% as far as possible, The Sims 2nd Of course, there are no loading screens are now ...

Minor Cons
- Pathing is extremely glitched
- Story Progression "Off" option does not work, but a big mistake in a game with an error as large as this one.
-The game is perhaps a little "too short" Family 1 "makes sense. Int Sims 2 was the same family of 10 LVL music / Rock Electric Directorate maybe 5 hours, 1 evening.

MAIN CATEGORIES

Video
The Sims 2 is a great step from the original when it comes to graphics performance and video, The Sims 3, but it is not even close to the step-up before. Although the graphics improved, but they are not even worth mentioning. Even if the game does not pixels (thank God), some of the textures are mild. Other elements of T. Vs are few and not very attractive

Graphics: 8 / 10

Sound
The selection of music is great and a good update for The Sims 2 music. The Sims 3 is a collection of music, a collection with an "electric" and a part of the theme music. Ideal for maintaining an exciting atmosphere and personalized radio is always ready to their music in the game

Sound: 9 / 10

Replay Value:
The Sims has always been known for a replay value. Thus, all expansion packs. There has always been a number of things to do, is to impregnate every woman in town, or the realization of your life + want more, there are also many ways to count. In addition, begin to build your house (always a very important factor in the Sims), and the future of the modding community, and you have a game you can play for weeks, before you all the great effort.

Replay Value: 10/10

Minor Categories

District Selection: 7 / 10
With only 2 quarters, the processing tool and Neighbor No hand in the game, you can not expect dazzled by this class. Although most of the houses are quite neat and elegant, and at least some "not a lot of rabbit meat holes.

Buy Mode: 6 / 10
The fact that Electronic Arts has more than $ 200 worth of virtual objects in their own little EA Store ... even before the game was released, shows the greed, the company really is. Now we have almost all the objects than ever before. Very disappointing. It is also the possibility of A 6, the new hall and Sortierung saved this proposal

Build Mode: 9 / 10
Build mode is still under construction so, and also the proposals of the method in the home buying mode. In addition, all new types of walls and all new models of intervention. The roofs are a bit "with a brake, because they are not customizable.

Choosing a Career: 9 / 10
I admit, I was not impressed with the career. But at least they are some of the other branches of the career. For example, you can become a master of the symphony - or a legend of Rock n 'Roll. There are also some benefits for the career. One of my favorites is the machine for you to Lvl 5 of the Police of the track.

Variety: 10/10
They include everything you can opt out of this game. If you are a vegetarian, choose the line. Gardner? Fisher? Artist? Slob? Male? Extreme (Daredevil)? The possibilities are endless!

Final Verdict: While there are some blows and grinds on the way, The Sims 3 is not no surprise, and I prefer the title of the "Whole New Game" instead of "A giant of the expansion." But it's not my word. If you are not satisfied with the game to play, I have no excuses why you can not go shopping. Enjoy Simmers colleagues and I would hop you;)

41)Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Walkthrough (บทสรุป)

Buy Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots PS3

Prologue: Ground Zero
Objectives:
- Infiltrate the city without being killed by the Gekkos.

When you jump from the truck, lie prone and crawl under it to find a ration.
Otacon will be giving you some info about the new camera, so play around with
it and head over to the southeast where the main city is. There's another
truck blocking your path, so crawl underneath it to initiate a cinematic
Afterwards, find the AK lying on the ground next to the fallen solider, and
Otacon will tell you how to equip it. Do so, and walk down the street to
witness some more fighting before the Gekkos crash the party.

You have two main goals here - reach the next checkpoint and avoid the
Gekkos. These things aren't nearly as tough as the other models of metal
gears Snake's encountered in the series, but their machine guns and kicks
will really hurt, so always keep your distance and don't bother trying to
fight them. Fortunately, the soldiers will all be so focused on being
slaughtered by the Gekkos that they won't pay any attention to you. When the cinematic ends, Otacon tells you to head north, but there's a Gekko standing directly in front of Snake, so ignore his advice for the moment and run around the other side of the building to the south. From here, follow the western-most street north and use the buildings as cover. If a Gekko spots you, immediately run in the opposite direction or duck into the nearest building and lay low. Continue this strategy of running to the various buildings to reach the checkpoint at the end.

001.0 - Act One: Liquid Sun

Objectives:
- Locate the Metal Gear MK.II.
- Meet your contacts, the Rat Patrol.
- Find and eliminate Liquid Ocelot.

001.1 - Northwest Sector

After Snake's first personal encounter with the new Metal Gear, save your
game if you'd like and watch the prologue that begins with Snake in a
graveyard, an allusion to the end of Metal Gear Solid 3. When all of that is
through and the game returns to the present day, Otacon will give Snake some
briefing on the OctoCamo and tell him to find the MK.II, directly north of
Snake's current position.

The first and most obvious thing to do is to put this fancy OctoCamo to good
use. Lie prone and allow it to blend in with the stone, and crawl into the
main street. Things are a bit quieter here, so don't worry about franticly
running in circles like before. There are only two soldiers to begin with,
but as you make your way down the street a tank will pull up and another
battle group will file out. Still, your situation has dramatically improved
from ten minutes ago.

Hang back for a moment and wait for the troops to start attacking. When some
of the rebels begin their strike, crawl down the street and enter the
building in the southwest corner. Inside you'll find a petro bomb, and in a
small room just down the hall you'll become reacquainted with your old
friend, the cardboard box. Leave through the same way you entered and crawl
across the street to the east side. From here, use the shadows to make your
way north and avoid the soldiers that patrol back here, and enter the ruins
near the tank - the doorway is behind a wrecked car that will conceal you
from the PMCs. A dead guy will fall from the second story, and just behind
him is a small room with a pair of fallen soldiers and an open window. Make
sure the two PMCs stationed outside aren't looking through the window, and
run to the destroyed wall and crawl through the small hole, but don't go all
the way through. A rebel will appear near the exit, begging for his life,
before one or two PMCs execute him. As they walk away, crawl up to the dead
rebel and look around to make sure another PMC isn't running up to join the
others, which doesn't always happen, before following the PMCs.

This area is one long path, but the southern side has a small, enclosed area
on its west side you can hide in. If the PMC has walked most of the way down,
swing the camera around so that it's looking down the corridor and watch the
soldier walk down it. When he passes by you, slip behind him and use the
boxes and crates at the end for cover. If you're quick enough, however, you
can just sneak up to the soldier and knock him out with a CQC throw or your
knife. There are a few soldiers patrolling the streets, so wait for them to
pass by before crossing the street and entering the building to the north.

001.2 - Red Zone

Walk up the stairs that are near the entrance of this area, and Otacon will
chime in that pressing the X-button while running will cause Snake to perform
a rolling dodge, which can be used to pass over small gaps. Conveniently,
there's a small gap that you need to cross over just ahead, so roll over it
and hide behind the boxes in the next room. There's a soldier just ahead, but
fortunately he has his back to you. Equip your knife, sneak up behind him,
and either stab or shock him. Pick up his weapon, which Otacon will tell you
has an ID lock that prevents you from using it, and jump over the broken wall
to drop down to the next floor. There are enemies patrolling the streets
below that can spot you, so lie prone and crawl north along this floor. At
the end, pick up the ration and jump down to the streets. Pick up the
compress in the corner of this area, and head north. There are a few soldiers
standing around who have the potential to give you trouble, but the
checkpoint is in the room right next to you. Enter the building via the large
crack in the wall to trigger the cinematic.

Good old Otacon comes through here, and he sets you up with several neat
items, including the Metal Gear MK.II, the Solid Eye, the Operator pistol,
and the Mk.2 tranquilizer gun. After checking out all of your new gear, climb
up the ladder in this room and walk along what's left of the second floor.
While this is happening, an explosive round will hit the building near some
crates. However, you can use these crates and the rubble to cross the street
and reach the building on the other side. There are two soldiers here around
the corner, so head to the left from the debris bridge and sneak up behind
them. Pick up the ammo lying on the ground, and knock them out with a pair of
CQC throw-downs.

Now, the next checkpoint is inside the rebel base, and there are two
different ways to get there. On one hand, you can simply sneak inside and try
to avoid getting in between the rebels and PMCs, but you'll probably be seen
and the base is fairly well guarded. If, however, you fight with the rebels
and help them win the battle, you'll gain their trust and earn free access to
the base. As a bonus, the base is filled with tons of goodies to pick up, so
this guide will outline the latter.

You have a decent vantage point from the roof here, so eliminate as many PMCs
as you can find. Afterwards, look to your south - the second floor of the
building here contains an RPG-7, which you'll need to destroy the PMC tanks.
Return to the room where the MK.II was and exit through the door into the
streets. The building south of the one we need to enter has a stairway inside
of it, so use it to reach the second floor and climb onto some crates to
cross over to the next rooftop. Once you've shimmied across the narrow board,
drop down to the right and pick up the RPG and packet of instant noodles.

Properly equipped to handle the tanks, stand in the alley perpendicular to
the Stryker and launch a rocket at it. When it explodes, head over to the
northeast corner where the rebels are mounting their front - since you've
killed some of the PMCs and destroyed the tank, they'll consider you enough
of an ally not to attack you for now. In a small room near the entrance to
the next area is another RPG, so pick it up and run over to the second and
final tank farther down the street. Destroy it, and finish clearing out any
remaining PMCs. When the rebels cry out, "We did it!" the battle is over and
you've won their trust. Enter the rebel's safe house in the northeast corner.

40)Valkyria Chronicles [Ps3] Reviews

Buy Valkyria Chronicles
"Best SRPG since Final Fantasy Tactics"

Story/Characters (9/10)

Playing out in a storybook fashion you will cycle through pages to select your upcoming missions and scenes. Setting the stage in the fictional world of Europa, you follow the protagonist and friends who are part of Squad 7, a small militia squad under the country of Gallia. Now the name Europa is designed to resemble Europe, as this game has a real life militaristic 'World War' feel blended with fantasy role-playing elements. Gallia is a small country that eventually gets caught up in the battle for Europa, little does Squad 7 know why.

The story has some cliches yes, but its 2009, what doesn't? Need not worry though, they are few and far between. The story is executed to almost perfection anyway that they aren't even bothersome.

The characters are simply deep and wonderful. If you ever played Skies of Arcadia and felt those characters lovable, you will love them here too! Vyse, Aika, and Fina return! Vyse and Aika come rushing back in this game as playable characters. Even Fina makes an appearance, although not playable.

You will probably fall in love with most of the story-based characters, if not all of them. Everyone in Squad 7 is just very likable. Largo screaming "VEG-TA-BLES!" in mid battle is just a small part of the laughs you will get out of these guys.

Gameplay (10/10)

Tossing away the standard SRPG grid-map placement, Valkyria Chronicles introduces something new to the genre. No more choosing tiles, you can roam anywhere once a unit is selected. Adding a twist of real time to the already turn based style, enemy units will shoot at you whilst running around the battlefield. No worries though, your units will do the same to theirs.

Now choosing to move a unit will cost Command Points (CP), which you have limited supply of. The more you move the same unit per turn, the less they can move each time, so be careful. When you have selected a unit, it will pan from the flat overhead map-view of the battlefield, to Action Mode, a third person behind the back view of that unit. From there you can move wherever you please until your movement gauge is drained or you decide to stop, as well as getting one time to attack.

As stated above, everything outside of battles and scenes is done in the storybook. Here you can recruit new members, upgrade equipment, upgrade classes, examine the glossary, etc., this is where all your management is done.

Your units consist of 5 general classes, as well as having a tank commander. The classes are as follows -

-Scouts: have the highest movement range

-Shocktroopers: general firepower, strong versus infantry

-Lancers: anti-tank units

-Engineers: they can repair your tank as well as resupply any other unit, second highest movement range

-Snipers: well, their title says it all, they nail infantry from the backlines, go for the headshots!

Now characters do not level up individually, each unit type levels up. As the unit level gets higher (MAX level of 20) each character unlocks their own unique potentials. Potentials are innate abilities each character has that can be good or bad.

All battles you complete receive a ranking at the end, A being the best. The higher your ranking, the more money and experience you will get. All the ranking depends on is how fast you complete your mission, meaning the least amount of turns the better. In most people's opinion this is VC's weakest spot, I think not.

While rewarding you for finishing the missions quickly, you are inclined to blow through all obstacles and enemies to go straight for the objective. While this is not easy, it is definitely possible on some missions, but not all, so be careful. I do not warrant this as something negative. While rankings rate your quickness, killing special enemies, called 'aces,' rewards you with unique weapons, unattainable at shops. There is one ace in each chapter. All in all, it's up to you to how many enemies you want/need to kill. Obviously the less you kill, the harder it will be to reach your objective; the more you kill, the longer it will take you to complete the mission.

The difficulty in VC is definitely there. While it may seem easy the first few missions, if you have not been battle-tested by Chapter 7, prepare to be! The game ramps up its difficulty from here there on out.

Artwork/Graphics (10/10)

This game boasts beautiful cel-shaded graphics in an anime style with a wonderfully drawn out world/environment. The world is a odd mix of your real world military and not so 'real world' fantasy. From the battle maps, to the amazing views, to the laugh out loud funny characters, the presentation is simply astonishing. At this time, there is no better looking cel shaded game.

You definitely feel drawn into the atmosphere while playing.

Music/Sound (9/10)

From the composer most known for his epic music in Final Fantasy Tactics, Hitoshi Sakimoto fails to disappoint. Probably one of the best orchestral video game composers out there(Tactics Ogre, Ogre Battle 64, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy XII, are some of his best works),his scores all fit perfectly here. All the music during the games scenes is done nicely; coming in at the right time, and creating that needed emotion during important scenes. There is even a beautiful lyrical sung song in the middle of the game that is very emotional.

The voice actors also did a fantastic job. I know many anime enthusiasts complain about your everyday English-speaking voice actors, but this game is an exception to even them.

Overall (10/10)

A truly hidden gem, much like SEGA's predecessor Skies of Arcadia. This game does not have the recognition it deserves. Much of that probably has to do due to many factors such as no advertising, small amount of game copies, and the Western audience having a lack of taste of anything anime-styled.

Just do yourself a favor and ask anyone who has played the game what they think about it; very few, dislike it. Everybody I know that has played it loves it! I played this every chance I got over the course of a week until I completed it, it's that good! There is even a new game plus mode for when you are finished.

In a time where video games are filled with a plethora of shooters, you cannot go wrong with this original title, it will not disappoint. If you are a fan of RPGs in general this is a must buy. If not, at least download the demo and give it a try, you have nothing to lose.

While Valkyria Chronicles changes some aspects of your general SRPG, it is for the better. While also staying true to the genres roots, it delivers.

39)Monster Hunter Freedom Unite [Sony PSP] Review

Monster Hunter! Giving you ulcers and making you love it since 1999!

Monster Hunter[sony psp], more then any other series, has two distinct lives. It's life in Japan is one of luxury. Monster Hunter games are their equivalent of Grand Theft Auto, the game enjoys an amazing level of love and respect that few other franchises enjoy. Then, there is the American life. It started as a very cult hit, and still is, but now instead of being like that vampire cult that meets in your friend's basement, it's become the Rocky Horror of games. Her fans can't get enough, they continuously grow in number and dedication, experiencing something the outside community fails to appreciate.

And fail to appreciate they do. I will not name names here, but many "professional" reviewing sites run into the same problem most Monster Hunter (hereafter MH) newbies do. This game is hard. It will kick your ass and throw you against a wall, then kick your ass again. Instead of getting past these "walls" (using guides like Darksun45230's amazing work will help), they chalk their difficulty up to a problem with the game instead of a problem with themselves. This problem is much better then it used to be (look at some review for old MH games), but people still can't get a handle on the game, and decide that Capcom is at fault.

Anyone who has read one of my reviews knows what follows. I go through the game's basic areas, then get into some subjective stuff. I will break down the game into graphics, gameplay, control, longevity, and overall experience. Enjoy hunting fans!

Graphics: 9/10

One look at this game and it would be hard to imagine that this is a PSP game. The graphics are sharp, detailed, and run at a smooth framerate. Go ahead, check again. Satisfied that this is a PSP? Alright, moving on. Each environment has a very distinct look to it, and its hard to account for all the detail the developers were able to cram onto a UMD. The monsters themselves look beautiful (until they try to eat your face), and each have their own little eccentricities that make them unique. With graphics this sharp, it would be expected that the load times would be horrendous. There was a time where loading left a lot to be desired, but not anymore. MHFU has the best loading times of the series, and for those who have a high capacity memory stick (they're only 20 bucks or so, get one, its worth it) you can install the game onto the stick, decreasing the times even further. With all this smexy greatness, some will ask why a 9 instead of a 10. The main issue revolves around some odd blurs and graphical hitches that are common issue when it comes to fast moving PSP games. It's not a major issue, but it does keep the graphics from being "flawless".

Gameplay: 10/10

The meat and potatoes of any game, the MH series is known for it's ability to be a slow and fast paced game at the same time. Players go into battle with one of eleven weapons, each providing a drastically different experience. If you want to do hit and run style attacks, a Sword and Shield or Dual Sword is your best bet. If you want to go deep and hard (that's what she said), take a Great Sword or Lance. For those who like to snipe from a distance, a Light or Heavy bowgun is your best bet. Then there are weapons for everything in between (Long Sword, Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Bow). I'll wait a sec so everyone can pick their jaws off the floor. All good? Alright, anyway creating these weapons requires materials. Some materials you get from gathering at the farm or in the field, but most require the player to hunt down monsters.

The actual hunting is a joy once you get used to the control scheme (discussed later), but once the learning is out of the way, nothing stands between you and hunting glory.... except for Yian Kut-Ku. I won't lie, this game is hard as hell. It makes players cry and throw their (overly fragile) PSP across the room, hopefully landing on a soft object. Once you get into a fight, a knowledge of the enemy and quick reflexes are all that will keep a hunter in one piece. Upon facing your first beast, you will die, a lot. There is a definite learning curve to overcome here. Once the player overcomes the curve (and it will happen, guaranteed) hunting becomes second nature. Each enemy is unique, and mastering them will be challenging, but victory is genuinely rewarding. Too many games these days rely on hand-holding the entire way through. Take Call of Duty 4. A player could select "Easy", rip though the game, and that's it. If they select "Veteran", the fight will be frustrating, nigh unfair, but in the end the feeling of satisfaction will be much greater. That's what MHFU is all about, hard fights, but great satisfaction when GREAT SUCCESS is achieved.

And always remember, hit them is the weak point for massive damage.

Control: (Initially, 6/10; after practice 8/10)

Controls almost always an issue for PSP games. Unless the game starts with "L" and ends with "oco Roco" packing in every control necessary without the luxury of a second stick is hard. The individual component of the MHFU scheme are solid. Camera and movement is controlled on the left of the system, and combat on the right. The left face buttons are for camera, the stick for movement, and the left bumper for re-centering the camera. On the right, triangle and circle are for attacks, square is for item use, the cross is for evasion, and right bumper for special attacks.

All good right? The first quests are fine, but when wyvrens start rearing their heads, it becomes an issue. Controlling movement, combat, and the camera at the same time is a hassle. Players will have a hard time adapting, and the inability to smoothly move the camera leads to many a death. Eventually, players will adapt with a technique called "fingerhooking". This involves hooking the left index finger to hover over the d-pad, and adjusting the camera that way. It is not a replacement for a second analog stick or a lock-on system (I do not support a lock-on, I think everything is fine the way it is, but it is something that has been mentioned in the past), but rather a way of compensating. It takes a lot of practice, but it will eventually become second nature.

Longevity: 10/10

Each Monster Hunter game has enough content contained within to survive an entire console generation. Even so, Capcom continues to give the fans new content, quests, and weapons to enjoy. MHF2 and Unite added downloadable quests, further extending the life of each game, and with eleven weapons to master, and hundreds of quests, don't expect the death of the series any time soon. Another thing to note, although the game only officially supports ad-hoc play, using a WiFi Max (or comparable equipment) and Xlink Kia allows players to hunt online with other players worldwide. I know, it costs money to get the equipment, and not everyone wants to pay extra money just to play online. Just think of it as a one-time investment that will bring hundreds of hours of more playtime. A couple of bucks now seem tiny in comparison.

Overall Experience:

This game is nothing but choices. With countless different weapons to choose from, dozens of monsters to hunt, and hundreds of quests to choose from, the player has countless options. Sure, controlling the game takes some getting used to, and hunting down the baddies is a struggle, but the reward is great. Every monster killed is just more materials to beef up weapons/gear and only aids the player. Take into account downloadable quests and online play, and the possibilities are endless. The Monster Hunter series is finally coming into it's own in America. Reviewers are no longer automatically shooting down every game that comes along (cough, IGN, cough Gamespot, alright I lied about not naming names), and one can actually see advertisements for the games cropping up. This is truly a masterpiece of a game, and one that should not be missed by any gamer. If you have a PSP, get this game. If not, get a PSP, then get this game. The economy may be in the crapper right about now, but a $200 investment for hundreds of hours of enjoyment (that would be $1000 dollars for a hundred hours of going to the movies) is great for the long run. Great for everyone but this reviewer, who had to type this with one hand after getting the other bit off by a Rathalos.

Final Verdict: Just buy it already!

38)Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions [PSP games] review

Buy Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions
Brillance... sheer brillance

I think the first thing that should be mentioned (for the benefit of the uninformed), is that Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions[psp] is a remake on the Playstation Portable of the original Final Fantasy Tactics by Square Enix, made for the original Playstation. Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions is a grid-based, turn-based, strategy role-playing game.
I feel that I should also mention that I loved the original Final Fantasy Tactics. War of the Lions took every minor mistake in the original, and perfected it. This is also the first game that I have reviewed, that has received a "perfect 10".

Background:
The main character Ramza (you can name him whatever you please) enlists in the military as part of his family heritage. Political and Religious turmoil cascade the land of Ivalice into despair and war. After a whirlwind of espionage and murder, Ramza is caught up in a quest to stop the temple knights, in their quest to control the world and it's inhabitants. This is the basic story, minus the nail-biting, amazing plot twists and turns. You'll meet friends, and make many enemies. In my opinion, this is easily the most in-depth role playing game out of every role playing game on the market.

Music and sound effects: 10/10
There is only one thing that bothered me in this area from the original game, and alas, it was not fixed in Final Fantasy Tactics: War of Lions. The yell humans have when they die. It's pretty annoying, but it's not big enough to affect the score given. The music from the original Final Fantasy Tactics, conducted by Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata was amazing. The wonderful part about Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, is that Square Enix decided to take the original score and use it for the Playstation Portable version. The music is essentially the same (with a few new tracks) and that's perfect. A nice, new feature is there is now voice acting in the cut-scene's (more to come), something that wasn't released with the Japanese version. As far as the music goes, why fix what's not broken? Very nice Square Enix.

Graphics: 10/10
For a grid-based, turned-based role-playing game, the graphics are top of the line. They also, like the music, needed very little to improve. Edges are smoother and not as choppy from the original. The reason I gave this category a 10 is, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions features something the original Final Fantasy Tactics did not offer. Cut-Scenes. No, I don't mean the grid-based cut-scenes. I mean full frontal, 3-D cinematics. The characters are wonderfully done, and every detail, from the Chocobo feathers, to the individual leaves on the trees, is done splendidly.

Gameplay 10/10
I would give this category 1,000,000 out of ten if it were possible. The grid-based combat is still amazing, and there is so much more. In Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, you start each battle choosing from 5 of your available units (you can have up to 24 units). These units vary in class and species. For example, you can have Chocobos, Humans, or even tame creatures in battles (if you have the right class). Each unit has a class (except the non humanoids). All of the classes from the original are in the game (with the exception of Lancer. It's been changed to Dragoon), and even a few new ones to play as. In each battle, you have certain criteria, or an objective, that must be done in order to complete the battle. How you go about doing that objective is the fun part. Also included in Final Fantasy Tactics: War of Lions, are new weapons and items, and a new script (the script from the original Final Fantasy Tactics was by no means "chivalrous"). Some characters have also been renamed. Simon (the priest from the beginning battle) is now just "priest". Delita's sister is now Tietra, Gafgarion is now Gaffgarion, and Algus has been renamed Algath. These just name a few. The game play was perfected in every category.

Replay Value: 10/10
Wow. That's all I can say is wow. There is SO much to do in this game. Try getting all of your party members to level 99. Take on the deep dungeon. I've spent hours on one level of the dungeon before. If you don't have 180 hours of spare time, don't even think about maxing out every character with their best weapon. Did I mention the new, secret characters? Did you get EVERY relic, and EVERY hidden town and or village in treasure hunting? Have you linked with a friend yet, and fought him? What are you waiting for? I don't see how it's possible to even consider giving Replay Value anything lower than a 10.

Pros
Replay value is just disgusting (in a good way)
New cut scenes
New weapons, armor and items
New Characters
Amazing Soundtrack
Voice Acting (US version)
Improved script and character names

Cons
Characters still have a ridiculous yell when they die

If you have a Playstation Portable, why are you still reading this review? Go buy this wonderful work of art NOW.
